It has taken me less than 11 months to reach this mile post for blogging. I began this journey in late February and made my first post on February 20th, 2006. As I look back, I can’t say enough for what blogging has done for me and my business. I have posted at least one article per week for 11 months and the commitment has forced me to evaluate my business like nothing I have ever done.
I have learned more about technology, the internet, and the blogosphere than ever imagined (and more than I care to know about some things). I have also learned more about my local marketplace and the real estate industry in general. Following through on a commitment of this level is very cumbersome, but also very rewarding. I have expanded my sphere of influence by leaps and bounds. My loyal readership thanks me for my efforts on a weekly basis. (I guess I can say I have more friends due to blogging, which is a weird result.)
I have streamlined my marketing of properties and enhanced the way I present myself to potential clients. Blogging has also made me a better communicator, obviously my writing skills are improving, but so are my presentation skills. Not to mention the credibility gained when I can reference a previous post in one of my presentations that expands the viewers knowledge.
I should also say that blogging has lead to new business due to the extremely beneficial search placement on Google and Yahoo search engines. Just last week a family from Mississippi contacted me to find them a new home in Woodstock, GA. Blogging works for growing your business.
I can safely say that I have spent less than $100 (not counting my time of course) and have earned more than 50 times that amount directly due to my blogging habit (I mean commitment).
Thanks to all of my loyal subscribers, thanks to everyone in the blogosphere who has helped me out (Desiree Scales at Bella Web Design Blog, Joseph Ferrara at Sellsius, Giles Stevens at Developing Atlanta, Dustin Luther at Rain City Guide, Jim Cronin at The Real Estate Tomato, et al) , and thanks to my wife for putting up with my computer habits. Now on to the next 100 posts!
