Spend the first Friday of every month in Olde Towne Woodstock and enjoy the many restaurants and stores that the area has to offer as the Downtown Merchants stay open late, 5pm-9pm This is the third year for the Friday Night Live series.
For each Friday Night Live theme participating Downtown Merchants will have activities going on at their stores and throughout the Downtown area related to the theme of the month. Friday Night Live also features great music as bands play throughout Downtown Woodstock in front of the stores which adds to the street festival feel of the event.
May 7th Siete de Mayo- Pop out that sombrero and enjoy the area’s only Siete de Mayo Party. It’s South of the Border in South Cherokee!
The Mariachi Band, Mariachi Los Arrieros, will be strolling around Downtown Woodstock during the event playing some great music. In additionother musicians playing during the event are, Six Strings South will be playing in front of Val’s Happy Shack, Steve Lusk will be playing in front of Roomscapes Gallery, and Jeffery Byrd will be playing in front of Seven Arrows.
The Downtown Merchants will have a sombrero contest!
All kinds/styles of hats can be entered in the contest, it doesn’t have to be a Mexican sombrero. You will need to go from store to store to register for the contest, each store will pick their fav and the winner will be drawn from that pool. The prize for this contest will be a $25 gift certificate to Pure Taqueria. So be sure to wear a great hat to the event!
Seven Arrows will have Mexican style refreshments and will be having a huge jewelry sale.
Pennybag Emporium will be celebrating Siete de Mayo with a mexican hat game for the kids with as always free prizes for anyone who participates. Our refreshments will have a hint of mexican taste but not too spicey!! We have three vendors setting up outside with homemade crafts including children’s clothes, jewelry and potpourris. Be sure to check out the photos from last month’s “80′s” costume contest and the winning customer!
Pure Taqueria will feature a drink special for the event and will have some special giveaways.
Vals Happy Shack will have fiesta snacks and beverages. Also everyone at the shack will be dress up in their best Siete de Mayo gear.
LKT Sports Art will have health food store “All About Health” set up in front of LKT Sports with a special a booth. Lots of other fun stuff planned at LKT Sports for the event.
Roomscapes Gallery & Heartwork Studios will be hosting an ‘Architectural Show’ by multiple local artists. Come join us for chips & salsa and other munchies, live music by Steve Lusk, and meet some of the local artists. The Elm Street Cultural Arts Village will also have an informational booth set up and representatives to answer questions on the site plan and vision for Woodstock.
Mom’s Table will be giving out samples of their Tamale Casserole with free lemonade at a table they will have set up in front of the Woodstock Visitors Center.
The Magnolia Thomas Restaurant will have a Daily Special of Blackened Tuna Soft Taco with a Chipotle Mango Salsa.
The Woodstock Visitors Center will have Game Night, where you can play your fav board or card game in the historic setting of Dean’s Store.
Other Downtown Merchants taking part in the event are Foxtale Books, Bella Boutique, Vingenzo’s, Hot Dog Heaven, Antiques by Samson & Delilah, Priest Home Furnishings, Granger Motorcycles, Canyons Burger Company, Honeybutter, Right Wing Tavern, Beetles BBQ and Ann Litrel Art.
Friday Night Live events start at 5pm. Live Music, Fantastic Food & Festive Activities.
