One year from the scheduled opening of Fall 2007, the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is starting to take shape.
Location, design and flexibility. You’ll find all three thoughtfully incorporated in Cobb Galleria Centre’s future performing arts center. The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, a $145 million project, is the first major performing arts facility built in metro Atlanta in four decades. Located at Akers Mill Road and Cobb Galleria Parkway, adjacent to Interstate 75 in northwest Atlanta, Cobb Energy Centre will be a premier venue for concerts, Broadway shows, ballet, education shows, family shows, opera, corporate meetings and events.
The facility will include the 2,750-seat John A. Williams Theatre, 10,000-square-foot ballroom, 6,500-square-foot Courtyard, 2,500-square-foot Terrace, 1,000 parking spaces including a 700-space parking deck, and full-service food and beverage capabilities.
The exterior of the Centre is sheathed with an undulating glass curtain wall along the public gallery spaces that connects the theater with the exterior entry park, creating a unique relationship between the physical structure and nature. The entry park is a pedestrian-friendly, exquisitely landscaped green space that will feature walking paths and a plaza. The overall effect is a stunning, contemporary building unlike any other in the region.
