Final Land Use Plan Hearing – January 15th

At 6:00pm on Tuesday, January 15th at Cherokee County Justice Center in Downtown Canton, the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners will host it’s final public hearing before submitting the land use plan to the State of Georgia for approval.

The current iteration of the plan has several major flaws that could seriously increase taxes, sprawl, and will inevitably lead to more city annexations:

  • 2-acre minimum lot sizes for 80% of the county will create sprawl and
    devalue your property.
  • Lack of commercial growth, especially at county borders, will mean
    higher taxes for everyone.
  • Map is unrealistic, does not reflect current zoning.

The Cherokee Citizens for Property Rights asks you to attend wearing red to show your dislike of the current plan and speak your opinion for a better solution.
