The Greenprints Alliance has partnered with various Woodstock businesses to hold a streetfest with a St. Patrick’s Day theme. The streetfest will take place on Saturday March 20, 2010, from noon until 11 PM on East Main Street in Downtown Woodstock. Sponsors currently include Pure Taqueria, Right Wing Tavern, Canyon’s Burger Company, and Outspokin’ Bicycles. Events planned for the day include live music, bicycle demonstrations, an artists’ market, raffles and St. Patrick’s Day-themed food and drink specials. A portion of the proceeds collected by the sponsor businesses will be donated to Greenprints Alliance to support the group’s vision of establishing a regional greenspace and trail network in southern Cherokee County.
Greenprints Alliance, Inc. is a non-profit grassroots citizen action group formed in spring 2009 to advance the City of Woodstock’s green infrastructure master plan known as the Greenprints Project. When complete, the Project will add over 60 miles of trails throughout the City connecting public places, shopping areas and neighborhoods. The advancement of the Project will enhance the City’s community, natural and economic resources for all generations.
