Recently I posted news about Cherokee County expanding it’s airport, last week Paulding County announced it’s goal of a new airport. Paulding’s plan is to have a terminal and runway open in 2008. They hope to emulate Cobb County’s McCollum Field which study’s show created about 1,500 jobs and had a $52 million economic impact on the county.
Cherokee County is hoping to emulate McCollum’s success and even capitalize on the overflow from McCollum’s waiting list for private jets. Paulding County has no interstate, and only got it’s first four-lane road in 1992, but now the county officials want everyone to know Paulding is “open for business”.
I can only see this as bad new for Cherokee County’s future airport expansion. Does anyone have a different opinion?
